I’m proud of this assignment because this was a great example of learning something new and then using our skills to create something different. This was an interesting way to explore different types of equations and we got to personalize our assignment.
I think this project describes the thinking and problem solving 21st century skill. During our project me and my partner did lots of different equations to see what works best and we had to make our roller coaster seamless. With this trial and error we were able to build a better project with more complex equations.
I am now more comfortable with growing from mistakes and figuring out how to do something as you go. This project had some elements that we had never learned before so it was definitely a learning experience. We had to try loads of different things and figure out which equations worked the best.
The most difficult part of this project was figuring out how to make the coaster as seamless as possible. This was resolved with plugging in different equations.
If I were to do this project again, I would add more things in the background to make the roller coaster more sophisticated. I would love to make the whole rollercoaster bigger as well.
I can relate this to something from the past because I have learned graphing before this class and it was nice to be able to apply my knowledge to this project.
I can apply the concepts learned into future math classes I take to be able to understand graphing in a new way.
