In this unit of our chemistry class, we were going over the concept of chemical and physical changes. For this project we were to make a comic strip that conveys the difference between physical and chemical changes.
For this comic strip project the 21st century skill I used was self-directional skills. We had to choose how to convey our information through our story, we got to decide how the information as well as how much information was shared.
Looking back at this project, I am proud of the effort I put in. I like the story I created to clearly display the information needed to understand physical and chemical changes.
By expanding my ideas through the choices I made while creating this project, I feel like I was able to make clearer decisions based on what the project needed. I was able to find another angle on chemical and physical changes that I was able to share independently.
Something I found difficult about this project was the artistic ability I wanted to hone to clearly display my information. By creating these images I was able to add yet another way I could absorb the information.
If I could do my project differently I would plan out what I would say beforehand on a google doc. This would allow me to tweak my ideas before I finally put pen on paper, in this case, colored pencil on paper.
In the past, we had briefly gone over what physical and chemical changes were. With this project I was able to further my comprehension of this topic.
In the future I will be able to look back on this project to be able to relearn the topic before further expanding my knowledge in future science classes.
